An Information Day will be held on Wednesday 21st June in Ferrybank Library from 2.30-8pm. All are welcome, no appointment is necessary.
The current Ferrybank/Belview Local Area Plan is in place from 2009-2020. As the review process for a Local Area Plan is a long and complex one, Kilkenny County Council began the formal process of reviewing the Local Area Plan in 2015.
A significant level of background work has taken place to date, including environmental assessments, flood risk assessment, a traffic study and an urban design evaluation. The Council has also undertaken extensive consultationwith relevant stakeholders, including two separate periods of public submissions.
A pre-draft Issues Paper and supporting documentation was published in March 2016 and is available from the links below.
The Council had aimed to publish a Draft Local Area Plan at the end of November 2016. As part of the normal drafting and consultation process involved in the preparation of the plan, further environmental and planning issues have arisen. This has necessitated additional time to resolve and has unfortunately delayed the publication of the Draft Plan.
