Kilkenny County Council Signs Main Contract for the Construction of 38 Houses at Bolton, Callan, Co. Kilkenny

Kilkenny County Council and Thomas Kelly and Sons Ltd have signed the main contract on a €5.5 million social housing scheme which will provide 38 new homes, making it one of the largest schemes to be developed by Kilkenny County Council for a number of years.
11 one bedroom houses, 11 two bedroom houses, 14 three bedroom houses, and 2 four-bedroom houses will be built at Bolton, Callan.

Cathaoirleach Cllr Eamon Aylward said: "This is a very positive step in the delivery of social housing in Co. Kilkenny and will be well received in Callan by those on the housing list".

The scheme was designed by a Team comprised of Reddy Architecture and Urbanism (Architects), Hayes Higgins Partnership (Civil & Structural Engineers), Noel Lawlor Consulting Engineers (Mechanical & Electrical Services), Nolan Construction Consultants (Quantity Surveying Services). Kilkenny County Council Housing Section are Project Managers. Houses will be built to an A energy rating.

Construction on the site has just started with the scheme expected to be delivered in early 2020.
