Enablers of Cultural and Creative Experiences

31 Local Authority Culture and Creativity Strategies were launched on September 12th 2018 by An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar TD, Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Josepha Madigan TD, and Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, Eoghan Murphy TD.

The Taoiseach praised the pivotal role of the local authority in the Creative Ireland programme and referred to the work of the Local Authority as going way beyond the many great projects and initiatives created. He also referred to the fact that the work as highlighted the critical role of the local authorities as providers and enablers of cultural and creative experiences.

The Kilkenny Culture and Creativity Strategy 2018-2022 includes 5 strategic priorities and they are:-
1. Enable best practice delivery of culture.
2. Increase and diversify participation.
3. Support culture in rural and urban areas.
4. Engage children and young people in culture.
5. Communicate the value of culture.
