Kilkenny County Council - Update at 2pm on Monday 5th March

Most roads will be cleared today with a single lane open on some roads in higher areas. Motorists are advised to take care on these roads with oncoming traffic as it is not possible for two cars to pass.

The public are advised to refer to our website: for a list of roads which are not fully cleared.

Current indications are that it will not freeze tonight in most areas, however, those in higher areas may have freezing temperatures. As the snow melts, water will lodge on all roads and if there are low temperatures these roads may freeze. Drivers are advised to take extreme caution on all roads especially on minor roads.

Farmers are requested to check for water leaks on outlying farms and make arrangements to get the leaks fixed as soon as possible to conserve the supplies of water.
Please check in on your neighbour to ensure that they are OK.

All queries in relation to roads should be made to the relevant Area Office.
