Constraints Study
The purpose of the Constraints Study is to collate information on the study area and highlight constraints and opportunities which may impact on the decision process when selecting a route. This data collection is focused on identifying and recording all known socio-economic, physical, environmental, archaeological etc., characteristics within the study area. The route selection phase, which followed the constraints study considered and identified potential routes for the road improvement scheme. Details of the preferred route corridor for the N24 Mooncoin By-pass were announced on Monday 18th February 2002 at a meeting of Public Representatives at County Hall, Kilkenny.

The cost of purchase of the N24 Constraints Study is €21.73 it can be purchased from The Office of the Project Co-ordinator, Kilkenny County Council, County Hall, Kilkenny. You can also download the Study for free from this website.

Latest Update July 2002
A preferred route was presented to the public in February 2002. The Route Selection Report is currently being finalised. It is envisaged that no further work will take place on the project in 2002.
