Shop Local at the Farmers Market every Saturday on the Parade, Kilkenny City, Showcasing Local Produce from 10 am to 3.30 pm
Starting next Saturday, 11th July the Thursday Farmers Market experience in Kilkenny City will be available every Saturday. If you don't get a chance to visit the market on Thursday you will get a second chance to do so every Saturday.
You can look forward to a ramble around the 18 stalls of the Farmers Market with a mixture of high-quality foods and crafts available from home baked bread and cakes to hand-made jewellery, skincare products, handbags, etc.
Come in and enjoy the Market and spend time in the City Centre where a one-way system recently introduced facilitates social distancing for a leisurely browse around the City Centre shops and businesses.
Mayor of Kilkenny Municipal District, Cllr. John Coonan said "this is an opportunity for visitors to the market to see top quality producers showcase their talents and produce in a safe environment for everyone's enjoyment. I would encourage people to support local business while having an enjoyable day out experiencing the City Centre. It's a win-win for all."
Market Traders were given the green light to reopen on 18th May, last and since then the Traders in the Farmers Market in Kilkenny City have been busy getting back up and running. There is a big emphasis on ensuring that everyone is safe and secure while visiting the Market. The following measures have been put in place to comply with public health and social distancing guidelines:
- All stalls will be set three metres apart.
- Stall holders have markings for customer to stand two metres from front of each stall.
- Contactless payments are being encouraged by Stall holders.
These measures are necessary to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all and as we get accustomed to the "new normal" it's nothing you won't have seen before.
