The Good Shepherd Centre has for many years provided essential emergency homeless accommodation for those who need it in Kilkenny. The services provided by the Good Shepherd Centre often go un-noticed but they are invaluable to our County.

On a recent visit to Kilkenny Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, Deputy Eoghan Murphy T.D., visited the Good Shepherd Centre to see first hand the services and accommodation available there. In particular, Minister Murphy visited the Good Shepherd's newest accommodation, funded through Rebuilding Ireland, which allows the Centre to accommodate couples in 12 new short term emergency accommodation apartments.

After viewing the new accommodation at the Good Shepherd Centre, Director of Services, Mary Mulholland acknowledged the importance of the Rebuilding Ireland Programme in funding homeless accommodation solutions and also the significant contribution that the Good Shepherd Centre makes to dealing with homelessness in Kilkenny. Kilkenny County Council will continue to support the provision of these essential services for the City and County.
