Kilkenny County Council Burial Grounds Draft Bye-Laws 2024

Kilkenny County Council proposes to make Burial Ground Bye-Laws in respect of the
area comprising of Kilkenny City and County under Section 199 of the Local
Government Act 2001(as amended) for the regulation of open burial grounds in the
ownership of Kilkenny County Council.

A copy of the Draft Bye-Laws is available to view, for a period of six weeks from the
Friday 6th December, 2024, to Friday 17th January, 2025, on the Council’s website
www.kilkennycoco.ie or at the Environment Section, Kilkenny County Council,
County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny during normal office hours, being Monday to
Friday between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. and 2.00p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

The Draft Kilkenny County Council Burial Ground Bye-Laws 2024 document is also
available for inspection online on the consultation website of Kilkenny County Council
at https://consult.kilkenny.ie/

A hard copy is available free of charge from the Environment Section, Kilkenny
County Council, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny or by contacting 056 7794470 or
emailing environment@kilkennycoco.ie

You can make an observation or submission via the following options only;

• Online by registering on https://consult.kilkenny.ie/ where you can then
make a submission on the Draft Burial Ground Bye-Laws; or

• Via email to environment@kilkennycoco.ie ; or

• In writing marked “Draft Burial Ground Bye-Laws“ to the undersigned.

Submissions or observations with respect to the draft Bye-Laws are to be received no
later than 3.00 p.m. on Friday, 24th January, 2025.
