Public Notice that Kilkenny County Council intends to consider deciding to grant a permission for alterations to the existing south eastern wing (formerly Women's Dormitory) and new extension - part 3-storey and part single-storey - for a Primary Health Care Centre for Camphill Community.

Notice is hereby given in accordance with section 34(6) of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 that Kilkenny County Council intends to consider deciding to grant a permission for alterations to the existing south eastern wing (formerly Women's Dormitory) and new extension - part 3-storey and part single-storey - for a Primary Health Care Centre, with public entrance at existing yard entrance of Kilkenny County Council Area Office in Prologue, with 38 car parking spaces in the existing yard and a staff entrance at existing entrance on Clonmel Road with 19 car parking spaces and all associated site works at Callan Workhouse, which is a protected structure, Prologue, Callan, Co. Kilkenny, for Camphill Community, Callan.

The development would contravene materially an objective of the Kilkenny County Development Plan 2002 as set out in Section 10.2.2 re: Residential Zoning Objectives ‘…To protect,  provide and improve residential amenities’ and which does not include  for a Primary Health Care Centre as a ‘Permitted Use’ or as a use ‘Open for Consideration’ in the proposed format.
                                
Particulars of the development may be inspected at the offices of Kilkenny County Council, Planning Section, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny during the opening hours of 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., Monday to Friday.  Any submission or observation as regards the making of a decision to grant permission received not later than 5.00p.m. on Tuesday 1st April, 2008 will be duly considered by the Planning Authority.
