The Heritage Office of Kilkenny County Council invites you to an afternoon of events on Sunday 12th October celebrating our traditional farm gates, at Castlecomer Discovery Park.
These gates are a disappearing part of our farming and landscape heritage. The event will be of interest to landowners, farmers and anyone with an interest in our rural heritage.

It will include an exhibition of farm gates; advice on the care and conservation of traditional gates; blacksmithing demonstrations; launch of the booklet "The Vernacular Forged Wrought Iron Gate"; talks; screening of films.
