Community Climate Action Fund - Phase 2

We are excited to announce that Phase 2 of the Community Climate Action Programme is expected to be officially launched by the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications within the coming weeks. 

This programme will support community based projects in Kilkenny and is aimed at tackling climate change through innovative, local and impactful actions under the following themes:

 

  • Energy - Projects that reduce energy i.e. upgrades of heating, lighting, external doors, windows, solar panel installation etc.
  • Travel - Initiatives to promote sustainable travel i.e. bike racks and bike repair stations etc.
  • Shopping & Recycling - Projects to reduce waste i.e. swop shops, community libraries, water refill stations etc.
  • Food & Waste - Projects to reduce food waste, community gardens and allotments, community composters etc.
  • Biodiversity - Promotion of wildlife conservation and planting for pollinators etc.

 

Community groups, Non-Profit Organisations, Residents’ Associations, Sports Clubs etc. are now invited to submit an Expression of interest by emailing: climate@kilkennycoco.ie
