These courses were of 5 days duration.
Who is this course for?
This predominantly practical course provides the techniques and underpinning knowledge to effectively assess and safely deal with potential Flashover and Backdraught situations associated with compartment fires. Personnel who currently operate as Breathing Apparatus Trainers and who have a responsibility for delivering Compartment Fire Training.
Course Outline
This predominantly practical course enables the Trainer to deliver carbonaceous, unit-based Fire Behaviour Training complemented by underpinning theoretical knowledge. The programme includes a wide range of Fire Behaviour related aspects from water application and branch techniques through to door opening and tactical ventilation techniques. The programme was assessed by written paper and direct observation.

Future Development
Following successful completion of this programme and upon having gained the necessary experience individuals can continue their development by undertaking the Positive Pressure Ventilation Trainer course.
