Nationwide Survey of singing for health and wellbeing groups. The University of Limerick has launched a nationwide survey of singing for health and wellbeing groups. The aim is to create the first ever comprehensive map of singing and health initiatives across the Republic of Ireland. A team at UL is now looking to augment the already robust and varied evidence-base of singing, health and wellbeing with a research project which will be the first ever, comprehensive map of singing for health and wellbeing in Ireland and singing on social prescription. The project will explore the role of singing to reduce social isolation and support positive mental health. Please complete the survey if you run a choir/singing group with a specific health/wellbeing focus: https://unioflimerick.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3eiPcwJ7ch3zaOV If you would like to find out more about the research project or share knowledge you have in this area, please contact Liz at: Elizabeth.helitzer@ul.ie |

New campaign to get Kilkenny reading during Covid
Ireland Reads is a new campaign to get the whole country reading this month in the lead up to a national day of reading on Thursday, February 25th.
Kilkenny County Council Library Service have teamed up with libraries nationwide, publishers, booksellers, authors and others for the campaign, which is part of the government’s Keep Well initiative and aims to celebrate reading and all the benefits it can have for wellbeing and enjoyment.
The campaign is asking everyone to ‘squeeze in a read’ on Ireland Reads Day, Thursday, February 25th.
A new website www.irelandreads.ie has been set up where people can pledge to read on the day and see how much time has been pledged by the Irish public so far.
