Fáilte Ireland Awards €1.1m in Major Funding for Tourism Project in Kilkenny.

Junior Tourism Minister Brendan Griffin turns the first sod at Evans Home which will be the new location for Kilkenny's Butler Gallery. With a total project cost of €5m, Fáilte Ireland has awarded a Grant of €1.1m with the remainder being funded by Kilkenny County Council and the Department of Culture, Heritage and Gaeltacht. The Butler Gallery relocation will support a range of art forms including the Butler Permanent Collection, the Tony O'Malley Collection, and a gallery for major temporary exhibitions. The new art space will also include Evan's garden where sculpture and archaeology can be displayed.
