Over 3 Million in Funding for Active Travel Infrastructure Improvements
Funding for Active Travel infrastructure improvements. Projects include the Kilkenny Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, public lighting improvements, and North Western Environs Active Travel Improvements
Kilkenny City and County have received a substantial funding allocation of over 3 million from the National Transport Authority for Active Travel infrastructure. This allocation will go a long way in ensuring that Kilkenny becomes a safer, more accessible, and environmentally friendly place for all.
As part of this allocation, several key projects have been selected for funding, including:
- Kilkenny Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan
- Public Lighting Improvements
- North Western Environs Active Travel Improvements
The implementation of these projects, in conjunction with the additional 24 projects included in the allocation, will enhance the overall experience for both residents and visitors alike. The improvements to public lighting, for example, will increase the safety of streets and sidewalks at night, making it easier for people to walk and bike.
