Notice of Intended Development - Civic Amenity Facility at Granny, County Kilkenny

In accordance with Section 179 of the above Act and Part 8 of the above Regulations together with any amendments thereof Kilkenny County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to carry out the development of a Civic Amenity Facility at Granny, County Kilkenny. The proposed development, on a 1.7acre (6900sq m) site, will provide for;

  • collection of recyclable materials delivered to site by private and commercial users
  • collection of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) delivered to site by private users
  • collection of household hazardous waste delivered to site by private users

 

The development will include;

  • vehicle weighbridge,
  • administration building (105sq m approx),
  • utility building (145sq m approx),
  • car parking,
  • site roads,
  • security fencing,
  • public lighting,
  • vehicular access via the existing N24 National Road,
  • on-site waste water disposal system and
  • site landscaping.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for public inspection from Friday 7th March, 2008 to Friday 11th April, 2008 from 9.00a.m. to 5.00p.m. Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) at the following offices of Kilkenny County Council;

  • County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny
  • Newrath Area Office, Newrath, via Waterford

 

Written submissions regarding the proposed development and relating to the proper planning and sustainable development of the area are hereby invited. All submissions shall be addressed to Simon Walton, Senior Engineer, Environment and Parks, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny, clearly marked Granny Civic Amenity Site Part 8 Proposal. Submissions shall be accepted until 4.00p.m.on Friday, 25th April, 2008.
