NOTICE OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT BY LOCAL AUTHORITY

N78 Damerstown West to Julianstown Bend Improvement Scheme.

In accordance with Part 8, Article 81 of the above Regulations, Kilkenny County Council hereby gives notice of proposals pertaining to the N78 Damerstown West to Julianstown Bend Improvement Scheme in the townlands of Damerstown West and Julianstown on the Kilkenny to Castlecomer Road.

The main features of the proposed works include:

• The realignment of 1km approximately of the N78 National Secondary Road (Part on-line/Part off-line)
• A new road cross-section that will allow for 2 No. 3.5m wide carriageway lanes, 2 No. 0.5m hard strips and 2 No. 3m grass verges.
• Improvement alterations to the N78/LP1844 Muckalee junction.
• Surface water drainage improvements.
• The installation of road markings, road studs and signage.
• Erection of fencing along newly formed boundaries created by the proposed scheme.
• Grass reseeding of verges and side slopes

Details of the scheme may be inspected from Friday the 20th of May 2011 to Friday the 1st of July 2011 at the following Kilkenny County Council offices:
