The Kilkenny County Council Arts Office is delighted to announce its call for applications for the Irish Youth Choir Summer Course Bursary Application. The bursary is being offered to youths who are currently residing in County Kilkenny. We are accepting applications for the Irish Youth Choir (18-28yrs) and the Irish Youth Training Choir (14-17yrs).
The Irish Youth Choir is the only dedicated national youth choir that offers training opportunities for conductors and singers from all over Ireland. Established in 1982, IYC is a weeklong course with performances for 60-100 singers aged 18-28. The Irish Youth Choir seeks young singers to undertake intensive training and professional development during its annual residential week from 29th June to 8th July with concerts on 6th/7th and 8th (TBC) July.
Irish Youth Training Choir provides young singers aged 14-17 with the opportunity to train with leading vocal and choral professionals during a residential summer course, culminating in an IYTC concert performance. After being a member of IYTC, young singers can expect to progress on to Irish Youth Choir (ages 18-28), taking part in their weeklong course of training and performances.
