Bursary for Places Matter Conference 2019

Kilkenny County Council Arts Office is delighted to announce that they are offering two bursaries of €100 each towards travel and expenses to enable two artists to attend the Places Matter Conference. The bursaries are open to Kilkenny based migrant artists of all art forms or Kilkenny based artists working in social inclusion contexts.

The Arts Council and Local Government will jointly host its second biennial conference, Places Matter on 28 March 2019 in the Bailey Allen Hall, NUI Galway. The conference will provoke and inspire policy makers, arts organisations and artists to understand how and why we should create and embrace diverse participation in the arts, based on the principles of inclusivity and equality.

Confirmed keynote contributors include Nina Simon of Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, Abid Hussain, Director of Diversity, Arts Council England and Professor William Schabas, Irish Centre for Human Rights, NUIG.

Deadline for applications: Wednesday 13th March

In your email please state the following:

- Are you an individual or an organisation nominating an artist
- Your location
- A brief background of yourself and / or organisation
- How attending the conference will be of benefit to you

Please note bursaries will be awarded to applications that fit the above criteria and will be on a first come first served basis.
