Community Grants
Community Climate Action Fund
The Community Climate Action Programme is a programme to support communities to take climate action at a local level. Kilkenny County Council in association with the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC), will provide funding to communities for projects that promote community climate action.
The objective of the CCAP is to build low carbon, sustainable communities, which will, in turn contribute to the national climate and energy targets.
The first round of funding is now closed and the second round is expected in Spring 2025. If you have any questions or queries, please contact the Community Climate Action Officer by emailing climate@kilkennycoco.ie
In 2024, Kilkenny County Council, with funding from the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications, awarded €511,000 to 22 Kilkenny communities to deliver a variety of local climate action projects. The communities are delivering a range of fantastic projects throughout the county including the installation of solar panels, EV charging points and establishing pollinator-friendly community gardens. To find out more about the communities and their projects, see our Story Map.
