Variation 3 to City and County Development Plan
Proposed Variation no. 3 to Kilkenny City County Development Plan 2021 – 2027
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that Kilkenny County Council, being the Planning Authority for the area, proposes to VARY the Kilkenny City and County Development Plan 2021 – 2027 in order to change the zoning of 0.18 hectares (0.45 acres) of lands within an existing green space / neighbourhood park in Loughboy, Kilkenny City and County Development Plan 2021 (KCCDP).
This variation entails the following:
To change the zoning of an area of green space, covering approx. 0.18 hectares (0.45 acres), at Loughboy in Kilkenny City from ‘Open Space’ to ‘Existing Residential’, in order to accommodate housing suitable for older persons / persons with disabilities on the lands highlighted.
The proposed Variation, associated Appropriate Assessment Screening Report and Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening Report may be inspected between Friday 6th December 2024 –Friday 17th January 2025 (both dates inclusive) at the following locations:

- Planning Office, Kilkenny County Council, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny during office opening hours.
Submissions or observations may be made:

Please note that all submissions will be made available for public viewing on Kilkenny County Council’s consultation website during the plan-making period. Kilkenny County Council will treat all personal data provided as confidential. We will retain your data for no longer than is necessary for the purpose of this proposed Variation and in accordance with Kilkenny County Council’s Retention Policy and the relevant Data Protection legislation.
Submissions or observations on the proposed Variation must be received by 5pm on Friday 17th January, 2025.
