Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that Kilkenny County Council, being the Planning Authority for the area, proposes to VARY the Kilkenny City and County Development Plan 2021 – 2027.

The purpose of this variation to provide for two distinct measures to the Kilkenny City & County Development Plan 2021 – 2027.  

1. The first of these is Variation 4A which is to incorporate into the Kilkenny City and County Development Plan 2021 – 2027 the essential elements of the Loughmacask Masterplan to give it a statutory basis for its implementation.

 

2. The second, Variation 4B is to amend Section 10.1.7 of the City & County Development Plan to allow for private waste water treatment systems in circumstances where the Council is satisfied that the ongoing management and maintenance of any on-site wastewater treatment system, can be maintained in the context of the proposed development as a going concern, in compliance with EPA standards and subject to a Waste Water Discharge Licence / Certificate of Authorisation as may be issued by Kilkenny County Council.

 

The proposed Variation, associated Appropriate Assessment Screening Report and Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening Report may be inspected between 7th February 2025 – Friday 7th March 2025 (both dates inclusive) at the following locations:

Kilkenny County Council will treat all personal data provided as confidential. We will retain your data for no longer than is necessary for the purpose of this proposed Variation and in accordance with Kilkenny County Council’s Retention Policy and the relevant Data Protection legislation.

 

Submissions or observations on the proposed Variation must be received by 5pm on Friday 7th March, 2025.
