Financial Accountability

The utilisation of public funds is undertaken in a very visible and accountable manner. The Council considers & adopts it annual Budget at public Council meetings and does so in accordance with the legal provisions of the Local Government Act 2001. It prepares, considers and public approves its Annual Financial Statement (AFS) at the end of each financial year in accordance with the legal provisions. Throughout the year the Corporate Policy Group & Council is briefed on the ongoing financial position of the Council with regards to spending and income collection and banking arrangements.
