Multi Use Games Area (MUGA)

A Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) is an all weather sports facility with a synthetic surface that can accommodate a wide variety of sports and games through the use of multifunctional goals and nets. Soccer, basketball, netball, tennis, hurling and volleyball are among a wide range of games that can be played on a MUGA.

There are a number of Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs) throughout Co. Kilkenny and these are at the following locations

  • Garrincreen Neighbourhood Park
  • Newpark Marsh Eco Park
  • The Fair Green, Callan
  • Breagagh Valley Park
  • Pairc Cill a'Chuain, Coan, Co. Kilkenny

The MUGAs are available for use by sports clubs, community groups and individuals. If any group wishes to reserve any MUGA for weekly training/matches etc please contact the Parks Department for further information.

Dressing rooms are provided for use at Newpark Marsh Park by users of the playing pitch and the adjoining Multi Use Games Area. Anyone wishing to avail of the dressing rooms should contact the Parks Department for further information.
