A Polling Scheme divides the county into Electoral Areas, Electoral Divisions, Polling Districts and Townlands for the purposes of Dáil, Local & European Parliament & Referenda Elections and appoints a polling place for each polling district.

The making of a Polling Scheme is a reserved function of the Council and schemes must be updated at least every 10 years or in the event of any electoral boundary changes.

The current Polling Scheme for Kilkenny came into effect on Tuesday, 17th November, 2020 and can be downloaded and viewed below.

The Polling Scheme can be viewed during normal office hours at the office of:

Reception Desk, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny during normal office hours by appointment only(056 - 7794000)

Copy of the Scheme may be purchased from Kilkenny County Council for a fee of €5.
