Amendments to Local Electoral Areas
The Local Electoral Boundary Committee [Committee No. 1] was appointed in December 2017 to review and make recommendations on the division of Local Authority areas outside Dublin, with the exceptions of Cork County, Cork City, Galway County and Galway City. This involved reviewing the division, into Local Electoral Areas of 23 remaining Local Authority areas which were currently divided into 89 Local Electoral Areas and represented by 623 Councillors. The report of the Local Electoral Boundary Committee [Committee No. 1] was published in June 2018.
The current make up for County Kilkenny is 4 Local Electoral Areas with total membership of 24 Members.
Following the review, the Boundary Committee recommended the following changes for County Kilkenny:

Minister for State, John Paul Phelan has signed the Statutory Instrument [SI No. 621 of 2018] bringing these changes into effect on the 19th December, 2018.
The Register of Electors has been amended to reflect the changes to the Local Electoral Areas. This has resulted in changes of Polling Stations for a number of registered voters in the following Townlands:

These changes will be made before 15th February, 2019 when the live Register will be published. This is the Register that will be in force for the forthcoming Local Elections, European Elections and any Referendum in May 2019.
