Notice of Variation 1 of the Kilkenny City & Environs Development Plan 2008-2014 entitled - Variation No. 1 Core Strategy which includes amendments to the Development Plan Strategy, Housing Strategy and Flood Risk Assessment and consequent amendments to the Loughmacask Local Area Plan

Kilkenny Borough Council being the Planning Authority for Kilkenny Borough and Kilkenny County Council being the Planning Authority for Kilkenny County varied the Kilkenny City & Environs Development Plan 2008 at their respective Council meetings on the 11th and 18th of July 2011, in order to:

Incorporate a Core Strategy which will bring the Development Plan into line with the provisions of the Regional Planning Guidelines for the South-East Region 2010-2022 in accordance with the requirements of the Planning and Development Act 2010.

A copy of the Development Plan 2008-2014 as varied is available for inspection at the Planning Department, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny and also at the Planning Department, City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny during office hours and may be viewed on the Councils' websites.

Notice of proposed Variation of the Kilkenny City & Environs Development Plan 2008-2014 entitled - Variation No. 1 Core Strategy which includes amendments to the Development Plan Strategy, Housing Strategy and Flood Risk Assessment and consequent amendments to the Loughmacask Local Area Plan

Kilkenny Borough Council and Kilkenny County Council being the Planning Authorities for Kilkenny City and Kilkenny City Environs respectively propose to vary the Kilkenny City & Environs Development Plan 2008-2014 in order to:

The proposed Variation is accompanied by Environmental screening Reports - a screening report for Strategic Environmental Assessment and a screening report for Appropriate Assessment prepared in accordance with the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004, and the Habitats Directive, respectively; and these are available for inspection.

A copy of the proposed variation and environmental reports may be inspected at the following locations from Thursday 26th May to Wednesday 29th June 2011 (both dates inclusive, excluding public holidays) during office hours from Monday to Friday:

Planning Department, Kilkenny Borough Council, City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny.	9am - 1pm and 2pm - 5pm
Planning Department, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny.	9am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm

A copy will also be available for public inspection at the County Library, Johns Quay, Kilkenny and the branch Library, Loughboy during their normal opening hours.
A copy of the proposed variation may be viewed on the Councils' websites at www.kilkennycity.ie and www.kilkennycoco.ie from 26th May 2011.

Written submissions or observations regarding the proposed Variation and associated environmental reports may be made to the Planning Authorities, marked "Submissions in relation to Variation No. 1 - Kilkenny City & Environs Development Plan" to the Director of Service Kilkenny Borough Council, City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny or to the Director of Services Planning, Kilkenny County Council, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny from 26th May, 2011 until 4pm on Wednesday 29th June, 2011 or you can make submissions by email to countydevelopmentplan@kilkennycoco.ie

Hard copies are available for purchase at the Planning Department, Kilkenny Borough Council, City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny or the Planning Department, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny at the following costs: Variation (€7), SEA screening (€15), AA screening (€10).

All written and email submissions/observations received on or before Wednesday 29th June 2011 will be considered by the Borough Council and County Council prior to varying the Kilkenny City & Environs Development Plan.
