What is the Draft Climate Action Plan?

The Draft Kilkenny County Council Climate Action Plan 2024-2029 sets out the actions that will be taken by Kilkenny County Council to prepare our County and people living here for the impacts of climate change whilst also laying out measures to mitigate the effects of climate change. The Plan outlines the main climate risks facing County Kilkenny and the current levels of greenhouse gas emissions of Kilkenny County Council and the county.

The Kilkenny Co Co Climate Action Plan 2024-2029

The Kilkenny County Council Climate Action Plan (2024-2029) sets out the actions that Kilkenny County Council will take over the next 5 years to address climate change. In particular it focuses on how the Council will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy use across its own buildings, fleet and assets. It also addresses how the Council will influence, facilitate and support the community, businesses, and other sectors in the county to take climate action.

In this presentation the Kilkenny County Council  Climate Action Team gave an overview of  the five-year Draft Climate Action Plan, how you can make submissions; and also a presentation was made on  the new Community Climate Action Grant scheme which is now open .
